La delegación no funciona en Swift con subvista

Editar: alguien sugirió que esto era un duplicado de otra pregunta. No es lo que he implementado:
- (NSInteger) tableView: (UITableView *) tableView numberOfRowsInSection: (NSInteger) sección // (en rápido, por supuesto).
En un ViewController, creo programáticamente un tableView y lo agrego como una subvista. Tengo una clase llamada DataSource que adopta UITableViewDelegate y UITableViewDataSource a través de dos extensiones.
Estoy siguiendo un ejemplo dado aquí
Obtengo un error:

0x7f88cc406ac0 es la dirección del ViewController que lo contiene.
Incluso si hago que el ViewController que contiene adopte UITableViewDelegate a través de una extensión y luego llame a la implementación de DataSource de tableView: numberOfRowsInSection, sigo viendo el error.
Ideas?
